Director Lajos Borsai, equally fond of the playboy lifestyle but in dire financial straits, aims to secure his fortune by wooing Mexican soap-opera tycoon Dulcinea de la Rosa as both wife and backer for his script. Their paths collide when both men fall in love with rising star Ibolya.
